  1. HOT OILS – Essential Oils that are considered HOT OILS have a potent chemistry and should always be diluted with a carrier oil before EVERY USE when APPLIED TOPICALLY. These oils would include Lemongrass, Cassia, Cinnamon, Oregano, Thyme, Clove, Basil, White Fir, and Wintergreen.
  2. SENSITIVE OILS – These are Essential Oils that should be diluted before use on young or SENSITIVE skin. These oils include Bergamot, Black Pepper, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, and Ginger. Check your Catalog or our website for more information.
  3. CITRUS OILS – These Essential Oils contain a compound called furocoumarins that are photosensitive, so it is important to avoid exposure to sunlight, sunlamps, or other sources of UV light for up to 12 hours after topical application of these oils.
  4. LESS IS MORE – More is NOT always better. Essential Oils are very POTENT. Remember that a little goes a very long way. Start with one to two drops, then increase dosage if necessary.
  5. SENSITIVE AREAS – Avoid applying oils to sensitive areas of the body. Do NOT apply oils in the eyes, nose, or ears. Apply a carrier oil if your body accidentally comes into contact with the Essential Oil in one of these areas.
  6. CHILDREN AND THE ELDERLY – Dilute Essential Oils appropriate to age and size to prevent sensitivities. The recommended dilution ratio is typically one drop of Essential Oil to three drops of carrier oil. Ask for more information if you are interested.
  7. FLAMMABLE – Keep Essential Oils away from open flames or fire hazards.
